Providers & Pharmacies
Members/Providers:CLICK HEREif you have updates to the directory All of the Piedmont Medicare Advantage plans utilize the same extensive Piedmont network our members have come to know and appreciate in the community. This includes almost all local physicians and hospitals. Our plans will cover services from either in-network or out-of-network providers, as long as the services are covered benefits and medically necessary. However, if out-of-network providers are used, your share of costs for your services may be higher and that provider must participate in Medicare.

Dental insurance "waiting periods"?
Sorry you are being treated badly here, sweetie. Some hard facts of life: Dental insurance is tough. . some of us insurance agents don't even 'believe' in it. The reason: Insurance is for something you hope never happens (like a car accident, house fire, cancer, etc. ) Dental care is a planned event. . . there isn't really any way for a company to reasonably insure someone against something they plan to do. . . they would lose money. The logic behind this would take a long time to explain, but trust me on this one. Unfortunately, dental care is very expensive, and there really isn't ANY good dental insurance that will pay for even a significant amount of the cost.

by William Echols| Licensed since 2011 PrintThis article was updated on: 11/16/2016 If you’re just about to become eligible for Medicare, you may be wondering how your Medicare coverage works and what benefits are included. Medicare is a federal program, managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, that provides health insurance to eligible United States citizens and legal permanent residents of five or more continuous years. You’re eligible for Medicare if you’re 65 or older or under 65 through disability. You may also qualify for Medicare at any age if you have end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Newly legalized CT immigrants eligible for Social Security, Medicare, but not other benefits
Washington – Immigrants in Connecticut who receive provisional legal status under President Obama’s new executive orders will be eligible for Social Security and Medicare, but not food stamps or health care benefits provided by AccessHealthCT. Under the president’s plan, undocumented immigrants whose children are citizens or U. S. residents can apply for provisional legal status if they’ve lived in the United States for at least five years, can pass a criminal background check, and have paid fees and their share of taxes. That is expected to help thousands of migrants in Connecticut, which has an estimated 55,000 to 100,000 undocumented residents.
